A Cape Town couple took their love to new heights – literally – when they exchanged vows on the face of Table Mountain on Saturday 11 February 2017.
Nigel Carter and Adriana Gaston went rock climbing and hiking on Cape Town's famous landmark and said "I do" suspended 1 067m above sea level!
The lovebirds, who have been dating for several years, are keen hikers and met on their first walk up Table Mountain.
Like the biggest love stories of the ages, Nigel and Adriana's has a sad twist – two years ago, while hiking up Table Mountain, Adriana suffered a retinal detachment. Consequently, she is blind in one eye and partially blind in the other, and conquering our New7Wonder of Nature seemed impossible.
The newlyweds knew they wanted an unusual wedding day and are thrilled with their gravity-defying ceremony, which was coordinated by Weddings Abroad: "We finally made it to the top of Table Mountain again ... and on our wedding day! Our love story has come full circle," said the new Mr and Mrs Carter.
While they posed for their unconventional wedding-party photos ...
... a keen Tweeter snapped their daring vows here:
