The Table Mountain Aerial Cableway was on Friday 4 September 2015 awarded a provincial Lilizela Tourism Award for Visitor Experience of the Year at a glamorous ceremony held at Moyo Kirtsenbosch.
Judges and finalists gathered at the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden for the prize-giving event, hosted by MC and radio personality Guy McDonald. Our award was handed to Fazielah Williams, the Cableway’s content marketer, by Provincial Minster of Economic Opportunities Alan Winde and the judges.
The Cableway was up against some heavy competitors, including Cape Town Big 7 partner Cape Point, but ultimately the judging panel recognised us as the winner "for the best tourism business in the Western Cape in providing tourists with excellent accessibility, value for money, and an opportunity to experience the rare and exceptional natural beauty of the country".
"What an honour to receive this award! As custodians of the Table Mountain experience, we are conscious of our responsibility to provide a memorable bucket-list experience for international visitors and an unforgettable first-time national park adventure for locals. We are so thrilled to be recognised for excelling in this regard," said Sabine Lehmann, the Cableway’s MD.
With the Western Cape title safely under our belt, we now look forward to the national section of the awards, which will be held in Johannesburg in October. Wish us luck!
