Children will have a ball in the new Dassie Den in the Bistro at the top of Table Mountain from Saturday December 1 this year until Thursday January 31 next year. The play area is open daily from 9am until 5pm.
The Dassie Den is specially designed for the summer school holidays where activities include face painting, guided walks, balloon sculpting, colouring in, story telling and puppet shows. Kids can also try their hand at a new game developed for the den, Snakes and Cable Cars. Parents can relax in the nearby lounge. Light refreshments and meals for children are also on offer at the Bistro.
“Children love the cable car ride and are fascinated to see Cape Town from a different angle once on top,” says Sabine Lehmann, CEO of Table Mountain Aerial Cableway. “Now kids can enjoy our Dassie Den too”.
Families can explore the winding contour paths where one can spot the dassies; pack a delicious summer picnic; or simply sit and relax while experiencing the stunning 360-degree view of the mother city.
