This festive season, Father Christmas will be on Table Mountain with a sack full of special gifts. Come celebrate the Christmas holiday with him and the Table Mountain Cableway on top of the Cape’s natural wonder.
A highlight of a dedicated children’s entertainment programme this summer season, Father Christmas’ visit falls on December 24 and 25, 2010.
From Thursday, December 16, 2010 to Sunday, January 16, 2011, the Cableway will cordon off an area of the Twelve Apostles Terrace and devote it entirely to children’s activities, available from 09h00 until 16h00.
Activities include puppet and magic shows and craft workshops. Kids can learn about nature while exploring contour paths with Dale the Dassie, and prizes can be won during plays and shows.
If you are unable to go up the mountain during the day, take advantage of the half-price Sunset Special, valid after 18h00 daily. Adults pay R90 per person return while children under 18 years pay R45 per person return after 18h00 only. The special is valid every day until Monday, February 28, 2011 and on New Year’s Eve (on which night the last car up is at 23h00 and last car down is at 01h00). Tickets can only be purchased at the Lower Cable Station from 18h00.
The Cableway operates weather-permitting. For more information call (021) 424 8181 or visit www.tablemountain.net.
