Let the hunt begin on Table Mountain this Easter

Join us for our egg-citing Easter weekend activities at the Cableway!

The Easter Bunny and his magical fairy will host exciting adventures for children at the Lower and Upper Table Mountain Cableway Stations this Easter, with a range of entertaining activities taking place from Friday 15 April to Sunday 17 April between 10am and 2pm daily.

From buskers and magicians to activity books and face painting fun, your waiting time with the kids will be made easier thanks to weekend long in-queue entertainment. The highlight will be a free Easter egg hunt around the Upper Cableway Station on the hour every hour between 10am and 2pm on Easter Sunday, with kids given clues at the Lower Cableway Station before they embark on their mountain top adventure.

Some helpful tips for anyone planning to visit the Cableway this Easter:

  • Park and ride: Leave your car in the parking lot at the bottom of Tafelberg Road. From there you can catch the free MyCiTi shuttle to the Lower Cableway Station. Shuttles depart every 30 minutes between 7am and 7pm.
  • Avoid the Ticket Office queue and purchase a ticket online here with adult tickets at R225 return while children aged 4 to17 years old pay R125.
  • Check our homepage or our social platforms before your visit. These can guide you on weather conditions, queue times and if the cable car is operational or not.
  • Free 30-minute guided tours depart from the Twelve Apostles Terrace, below the Shop at the Top and Table Mountain Café, on the hour from 9am to 3pm daily.

Visitors looking for a snack, meal or something to drink can head to the Table Mountain Café, Terrace Bar or Wi-Fi Lounge where a variety of delicious food and beverage options will be on sale.

Don’t forget to make use of the free Wi-Fi at the Lower Cable Station or in the Wi-Fi Lounge to download the free Table Mountain Cableway audio tours via Voicemap. With two tours to choose from, this app will give you insightful information on the fauna and flora of the area, and provide you with maps of the Cableway’s pathways.
