Coolest thing to do in Cape Town at sunset!!! Take the last cable car of the day (5pm after May 1) to the summit of Table Mountain in order to a watch a masterpiece of creation each evening at sunset
Lulubella1000, Port Elizabeth:
This is a truly special trip and a lovely way to spend an afternoon. It's busy, but the queues go quickly. The views from the cable car and from the top of the mountain are worth seeing over and over again. We love having lunch on top of the mountain!
Tommy T from Repentigny in Canada gave us four stars:
The cable car allows you to get on top and enjoy the panorama without the dreadful sweats and pain of a hike. The views from the top are simply jaw-dropping. Book your tickets online so you can skip the queue.

Go on a clear day as the views will be breathtaking. This is a well-run and organized sight and a must do when in Cape Town.
BeaBea2010, London, United Kingdom felt we were worth five stars too:
Why wouldn’t you go - surely this is one of the reasons why you're in Cape Town!! The cable car up is quick and efficient. The inside of the car is on a turntable, so it rotates one turn during the ascent / descent. This means it doesn't matter where you stand when you get on! The views were amazing at the top of the mountain, and you were able to follow some paths and walk around the plateau. There was plenty of flowers and wildlife to see!
Thank you for sharing your Cableway visits with the world!
