#WayBackWednesday: Our 2017 annual maintenance in photos

The Cableway's annual maintenance for 2017 included rope cleaning of the cables than allow the cars to run.

We can hardly believe it has been a month since we re-opened, following our two-week annual maintenance shutdown on Monday, 7 August 2017!

There were so many cool changes happening behind-the-scenes, including an exit and entrance switch at the top station, newly resurfaced pathways and new looks for the Table Mountain Café and Visitor Centre.

Here are few of our favourite must-see photos of our annual maintenance in 2017:

Our technical team performed maintenance on the base of the cable cars.

The pathways on the summit of Table Mountain were repaved.

Maintenance on the gearbox was performed too.

Slack rope testing is a crucial maintenance checklist item.

The Lower Station's lifts renovation is an extensive process.

In case you missed it: our second Lower Station lift will be out of commission until October 2017.

The Cableway operates daily, weather permitting. For weather updates and operational status, please visit our homepage or call +27(0)21 424 8181.
