CABLEWAY RESTAURANT CLOSED FOR MAKE-OVER

The Cableway’s Restaurant at the Top will be closed for refurbishment from Monday April 14, 2008. While the restaurant is closed, visitors can buy refreshments and enjoy light meals and snacks at The Bistro, located at the Top Station. The new and improved Table Mountain Café will re-open in August 2008.

Bookings

As the cableway is weather dependent we do not take bookings. Purchase of tickets can be made, on the day of your visit, at our lower station ticket office.

 
Cableway Closed For Annual Maintenance

The Cableway is closed for annual maintenance from 14 July to 3 August and will reopen for business on 4 August 2008 if weather permits.

 
Welcome to Cape Town and the Cableway

The best views of Cape Town are seen from the top of Table Mountain.  The Cableway takes you to the summit in under 10 minutes and the cable car's rotating floor ensure that all passengers get a 360 degree aerial view of the city.

New Opening Hours

Due to operational requirements the Cableway will open from 8am in the summer months (October to April). Tour operators will now have an extra half hour to fit the Cableway into their schedule. This new opening time will be valid from Friday 16th March 2007.  The winter opening times will stay the same: 1 May - 15th September 08h30 to 18h00.
