Cableway Hits Milestone of 16 Millionth Passenger

Warm sunny weather and a breathtaking view of Cape Town formed the perfect backdrop to greet the 16 millionth passenger on Table Mountain Cableway.

 
Table Mountain Cableway sponsors the 2004 IAIAsa Awards

The International Association for Impact Assessment, South Africa, (IAIAsa) presented their awards at their annual conference in October 2004. The Cableway sponsors a cash prize for the best student paper presented. This was won by two students from the Centre for Environmental Management at North West University, Potchefstroom campus. Their paper was on: Towards Sustainability: A Case Study report on 17 medium sized local authorities in the Southern SADC.

 
The Cableway Celebrates its 75th Anniversary!

27th September 2004

On Monday, the 4th October 2004, the Cableway will have been operating for 75 years. This will be the start date for a month of special offers encouraging locals and hikers to celebrate Cape Town's number one tourist attraction.

 
Youth Day

16th June 2004

The Minister of Environmental Affairs and Tourism, Marthinus van Schalkwyk, joined learners on Table Mountain for a special "Class in the Clouds" on Youth Day.
