FAMILY TIME ON THE CABLEWAY

Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company is offering a spectacular winter special to all families - two children under 18 years get a free return trip if accompanied by a full paying adult from Thursday May 1 to Monday September 15, 2008.

"The Cableway's Family Winter Special is a wonderful opportunity for parents to show their children the uniqueness of Table Mountain. Children love the gondola ride and are fascinated to see Cape Town from a different angle once on top," says Sabine Lehmann, CEO of Table Mountain Aerial Cableway.

Explore the winding contour paths where you can spot the elusive dassies; pack a delicious winter picnic; or simply sit and relax while you experience the stunning 360-degree view of the mother city.

Visitors can also buy refreshments and enjoy light meals and snacks at The Bistro, located at the Upper Cable Station. The Shop at the Top is located in the old stone building. Here you will find a wide variety of souvenirs and gifts to keep the entire family happy.

The Cableway's Family Winter Special is valid everyday from May 1 to September 15, 2008. Ticket prices: adult return R130, includes two children under 18 years traveling free (normal child rate R68). Valid on return fares only.

CABLEWAY RESTAURANT CLOSED FOR MAKE-OVER

The Cableway's Restaurant at the Top will be closed for refurbishment from Monday April 14, 2008.

Improvements include a brand new look and feel to the interior of the restaurant and a trendier, more varied menu to cater to the changing demands of the Cableway's tourist market. All changes will meet the internationally accepted Environmental Management System requirements and guidelines which this World Heritage Site is committed to.

While the restaurant is closed, visitors can buy refreshments and enjoy light meals and snacks at The Bistro, located at the Top Station. The new and improved Table Mountain Café will re-open in August 2008.
