Cableway celebrates World Day of Social Justice
Today is World Day of Social Justice, a commemoration of peaceful and prosperous coexistence within and among nations worldwide, and the Cableway is celebrating by highlighting how we uphold the underlying principles of gender equality and equal rights of indigenous people and migrants.
A United Nations initiative, World Day of Social Justice seeks to advance the movement by removing barriers that people face because of gender, age, race, ethnicity, religion, culture or disability.
The theme for this year’s World Day of Social Justice is Workers on the Move: the Quest for Social Justice.
The Cableway celebrates and upholds the United Nation's vision in the following ways:
- Empowering the disabled by offering training leadership courses to unemployed disabled learners. In 2017, two learners completed their General Education and Training certificate Domestic Series Learnership NQF Level 1.
- Maintaining our committment to ethical conduct in the workplace.
- Ensuring that our suppliers have reputable work processeses and do not engage in child labour.
