#Cableway Team: meet Fiona Magobiane - Operations Administrator/Class in the Clouds Coordinator
The Cableway bid a fond farewell to Ethel James in February 2018 and welcome the awe-inspiring Fiona Magobiane in her stead, in March.
We sat down to chat to Fiona about her new Cableway journey and interests:
When did you join the Cableway?
I joined the Cableway on 22 March 2018.
What is your current position at the Cableway?
I’m currently an Operations Administrator and I manage the Class in the Clouds bookings.
What has your experience been like so far working at the Cableway?
To be honest, I have received a very warm welcome in the company. People have been great and very helpful. The environment is amazing and the culture of the company is so diverse.
What are you reading/ listening to at the moment?
I’m currently reading “The President’s Keepers” and listening to Whitney Houston.
What is the most adventurous experience you’ve had?
The most adventurous experience I had was when I went to Hartbeespoort dam for river rafting and had a great time.
What is your favourite pastime?
My favourite pastime is playing with my daughter and going to 21 Jump Street because it makes me feel like a child again.
What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learnt about the Cableway since working here?
When I saw the numbers in the MOD's book, I learnt that thousands of people go up the mountain a day. I never imagined that it could be up to six thousand visitors a day.
If you were stuck on top of the mountain, what are the six things you could never do without?
The things I won’t do without is my phone, food and blankets.
What is the one song that is guaranteed to get you on the dance floor at the staff party?
The song that would get me up is "Destruction Boys - Omunye".
