#CablewayTeam: Meet our Assistant Accountant Lindsay Bester
At the Cableway, we are all about celebrating our hardworking and long-term green team members. This week, we’re honouring our assistant accountant Lindsay Bester!
Lindsay, a busy mom of two, celebrates 15 years of service at the Cableway in 2018.
We asked her to share her awe-inspiring Cableway journey with us:
You’ve been with the company for 15 years. Which position did you start in and how did you work your way up to your current position?
I started at the Cableway in August 2003 as a cashier in the Ticket Office and worked my way up to Assistant Supervisor. In June 2008 I was offered a position in the accounts department as Accounts Payable Controller. With no experience, I entered a new chapter in my life. Last year I was promoted to Assistant Accountant. Over the years, I have gained a tremendous amount of experience (and still learning), thanks to my peers, the support of my family and Our Heavenly Father for the wisdom.
You’re a recipient of the Cableway’s Siyafundisa Bursary Fund. Please tell us about your studies.
I’m currently a 3rd year student, doing my degree in Financial Accounting. I must say the road hasn’t been easy, but in the end it will all be worth it. There will be stepping-stones all the way, just push through - the light is shining on the other side.
What is your secret tip for first time visitors to the Cableway?
The weather is very unpredictable, dress appropriately, as we have 4 seasons in one day.
