Table Mountain Cableway closed for maintenance 2012

Table Mountain Cableway closed for maintenance 2012

Table Mountain Cableway is closed for its annual maintenance period. The Cableway will be closed from July 23 to August 5, 2012, and will be open for business on August 6, weather permitting.

Why is the Cableway closed?

Every year the Cableway closes for two weeks to undertake the maintenance necessary to ensure the safety and comfort of its approximate 800 000 annual visitors.

In addition to the daily, weekly and monthly maintenance the company performs, the Cableway is also required to complete specific annual maintenance to meet the highest global Cableway standards set by the Swiss Governing Body for Cableways (BAV).

I still want to enjoy the Table Mountain experience

You can still experience everything Cape Town’s New7Wonder of Nature has to offer, including rich biodiversity and amazing views, by hiking up the many paths.

It’s my birthday, do I forfeit my free ride?

South Africans (18 years and older) who celebrate their birthday within the Cableway’s annual maintenance period will not miss out and can still take up the Cableway’s Birthday Special offer one week after the maintenance period.
