Top 5 tips to make the most out of your Cableway visit

The Cableway has re-opened after its 2018 annual maintenance period and we've got your 5 top tips to make the most of your next visit.

We've FINALLY re-opened after our two-week annual maintenance shutdown period, and want you to make the most out of your Cableway visit, so here are our top 5 tips:

Book your tickets online:

The week after we've re-opened sees us welcoming a large volume of visitors so, for your convenience, we highly recommend booking your Cableway tickets online. Doing so enables you to join our faster moving online ticketholders' queue on arrival and cut down on waiting time.

Check the weather and our operational status:

Keen to know what the weather is like on top of Table Mountain or to see whether we're open or not? Visit our homepage, call our weather line on +27(0)21 424 8181, email us using or follow us on Twitter and Facebook for updates.

Dress appropriately:

Remember, it's at least four degrees cooler at the summit, so bring along a jacket or scarf and wear non-slippery shoes. Forgot these items at home? You can pop by our Shop at the Top or Visitors' Information Centre for some winter warmers.

Park and ride:

Hop onboard our free park and ride shuttle service from the Lower Tafelberg Road parking lot and avoid those traffic and parking woes.

Share your Cableway experience:

We'd love to see all of your awe-inspiring Cableway photos and videos, so pop by our WiFi Lounge for our fast and free WiFi as well as on-the-go hot drinks and snacks. Upload your snaps to social media and tag us @TableMountainCa on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.

We can't wait to see you!
