As a leading attraction in Africa and the Indian Ocean, we believe that it is our duty to act responsibly as a tourism operator and take the necessary precautions to mitigate the spread of Covid-19.

At the beginning our national lockdown, Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company therefore made the decision to close its operations to all visitors to comply the regulations set out by our healthcare and regulatory bodies in South Africa.

In line with the national lockdown regulations. Once our international borders are open to international travellers, we will open our doors to all visitors.

TMACC will open its operations to all local and domestic travellers with strict health and safety protocols in place.

SANParks opened all national parks on 01 June 2020. Hikers are permitted to make use of hiking trails in the Table Mountain National Park.

Arrangements are in place for visitors who have already purchased tickets to get a refund.

The kiosk at the lower station will also have snacks and takeaway meals such as sandwiches, salads and an assortment of cakes available.

Yes, the toilets at the lower and top station will be open for you to use.

The cable car will be running from 09h00 until 17h00 seven days a week until 31 October 2021.

The last car down is scheduled for 17h00. If you miss the last cable car down, you need to make use of the emergency phone at the Upper Cable Station. Emergency Rescue Services will advise on the next steps to get you down safely.

The cable cars will operate as often as required but at least every 15 minutes.

Visitors are to please abide by the Cableway’s rules and regulations and wear a mask at all times. We, unfortunately, cannot allow anyone on our premises without a face mask.

Yes, sanitising stations are placed at the entrance and exits of the upper and lower cable car stations and are also provided inside the cable car.

Unfortunately, we cannot allow anyone in the cable car who is not wearing a face mask.

Our normal carrying capacity is 65 passengers. We have reduced numbers to allow more space in the cabin.

Every person entering the cabin will have their temperature checked and their hands sanitised.

Every person in the cable car will wear a mask at all times during the trip.

The windows of the Cable Car will be removed to allow good ventilation.

We also operate the cable cars with the windows removed. This way we can ensure correct ventilation.

The handrails of the cable car will be sanitised between each trip.

A deep clean of the cable cars will be conducted daily.

You can collect and redeem your free birthday Cableway ticket on any day of the calendar month in which your birthday falls.

For example, visitors born in October can collect and redeem their free birthday tickets on any day in October (even if it’s before their actual birthday).

Regardless of when your actual birth date falls during your birthday month, you cannot redeem your free birthday ticket the following month. For example, someone born on 31 October cannot use their birthday ticket in November.

The private-car experience can be booked online via Webtickets. Tickets can only be redeemed from Monday to Friday during the Cableway’s regular operating hours.
