Egg-citing March school holiday activities at the Cableway
Here are some important logistics that need to be noted for the March school holidays that kicks off on 21 March 2024:
Park and Ride due to limited parking
Due to the rehabilitation of Tafelberg Road, parking along Tafelberg Road is extremely limited. Visitors are encouraged to Park and Ride. To ease congestion, we are offering complimentary shuttle services over the school holidays running from the bottom parking area at Kloof Nek and from Platteklip Gorge parking area to the Lower Station.
Visitors are strongly advised to use public transport options such as buses and Uber to get to the foot of Tafelberg Road.
Ticketing
To avoid long queues on busy days, we would like to encourage you to pre-purchase your tickets online This will allow for a smoother entry experience. Should the Cableway be closed due to weather conditions, your online ticket will still be valid for seven days. Alternatively, you can reschedule your visit for another day or obtain a refund if you are unable to visit.
Fast Track Tickets
Our Fast Track tickets provide direct access to the cable cars, so if you are pressed for time, this is just the right ticket for you. Fast Track tickets can be purchased here.
Holiday entertainment
While waiting to board the cable cars, kids can enjoy free activity books handed out by our staff. We also offer a free guided walk, from 9h00 – 15h00, on the hour, weather permitting. These free guided walks depart from the Twelve Apostles Terrace, below TEN67 Eatery and Shop at the Top. Alternatively, we offer free audio tours which can be downloaded from the Voicemap app.
Easter festivities
With Easter falling during the school holidays, the Cableway has planned some extra special activities. There will be an online Easter Egg hunt from 20 to 27 March 2024. Participants can search for the virtual golden egg online for a chance to win a bespoke Easter chocolate hamper from Afrikoa, a premium local chocolate maker based in Cape Town, an Afrikoa tasting experience as well as Cableway tickets.
For those visiting the Cableway, there will be an on-site Easter Egg hunt for children. On Easter Sunday (31 March) from 10h00 to 14h00, children visiting the Top Station will be given clues to an interactive egg hunt around the summit area. Should the Cableway be closed on Easter Sunday due to weather, the on-site egg hunt will take place on Easter Monday (1 April) instead.
Popular MC Hilton Carlse will also be on-site to entertain and provide useful information to the crowds.
