This year’s #CablewayCharityChallenge presents a great opportunity for you to give back to society by taking part and raising sponsorship, or by sponsoring a runner, friend or colleague who is taking part, in support of amazing charities.

This exciting annual challenge – to ascend Platteklip Gorge as many times as possible in a set time frame – was launched in 2009 and is a wonderful way to help those in need.

Your support can make a huge difference. All proceeds from the nine-day challenge go to charitable organisations working to change people’s lives. The nominated beneficiaries for 2022 are Nature Connect, Home from Home and Ons Plek.

Here’s how you can take part:

• You have nine days from 7 to 15 May 2022 to complete as many laps as you can. Corporate teams, however, will compete on 7 May 2022. See more details further down

• Entry is free, but runners must raise a minimum of R3 000 for the nominated beneficiaries

• The aim is to summit Platteklip Gorge as many times as you can, in your own time.

• Runners will get a free Cableway ride down Table Mountain after each summit
