The annual #CablewayCharityChallenge – a race to ascend Platteklip Gorge as many times as possible in a set time frame – provides a wonderful way to raise funds to help those in need.

This exciting annual challenge, launched in 2009, returns this year to its one-day format, on Saturday, 20 April 2024.

You can join in, either by taking part in the #CablewayCharityChallenge and raising sponsorship, or by sponsoring a runner, friend or colleague who is taking part, in support of amazing charities.

Help us reach our goal of raising R1 million to support the 2024 nominated charities Abalimi Bezekhaya, Funda Kunye and Ndihluthi as well as Wilderness Search and Rescue (WSAR) and Volunteer Wildfire Services (VWS).

• Entry fee:

1. Single participant R3 000
2. Corporate challenge: R17 500 per team (5 members)
3. School challenge: R10 000 a team (5 members)

• Athletes will get free cable car ride down.
