We’ve hosted celebrities, presidents, royalty and many other special visitors in our 89 years of operations, but we were especially delighted to welcome a rarely spotted caracal, or rooikat, on Saturday 17 August 2019!

Our green team member George Myata spotted the surprise visitor crossing one of our wheelchair-friendly pathways at the Upper Cable Station.

He says, “He just walked right across the pathway and I was so excited because it was the first time I’ve seen a caracal up close!”

We love having these elusive animals around and are proud sponsors of the Urban Caracal Project.
