#CablewayTeam : meet our Culinary Arts graduate Tasneem Samuels

At the Cableway, we support our team members' dreams of improving their skills through our bursary programme, Siyafundisa. The latest beneficiary, Tasneem Samuels, has proudly graduated from the South African Chef’s Academy with a diploma in Culinary Arts.

We chatted to Tasneem (33) about her achievement:

What is your current job title?

I am currently the Chef De Partie and Kitchen Administrator.

What is the full title of your diploma?

Diploma in Culinary Arts.

How long was your course?

It was a blocked release course for six months.

Which institution did you complete your course at?

The South African Chef’s Academy.

How will this diploma assist in your duties at the Cableway?

It will improve my overal skills, and give me more room for growth, as well as allow me to share my knowledge with other colleagues while I continue with the preparation of succulent meals.

What do you enjoy most about working at the Cableway?

Practically everything. I am an easy going person. My morning drive to work, with the beautiful scenery, motivates me especially.

What advice do you have for students studying in your field?

They should give 100% all the time. Stay dedicated, be passionate for what you're doing and just enjoy it.

What is your favourite item on the Café’s menu?

Since I have a sweet tooth, I will have to go with the cakes, but I do love the food as well. If I didn’t, then there would be a problem... lol.
