The blue lights are being sponsored by the Childhood Cancer Foundation (CHOC), who have dedicated more than 35 years to supporting children with cancer, as well as their families.

Research shows that the survival rate of children diagnosed with cancer in developed countries is around 80%. The survival rate in South Africa is, however, closer to 50%, because children are not diagnosed early enough. CHOC aims to ensure that the survival rate improves.
