Your Cable Card and our service for hikers: what you need to know
We made two awesome announcements on Friday 24 July 2020: the launch of our special one-way down hikers’ service and the renewal of a year’s membership for you, our active and current loyal Cable Card holders.
We know you have some questions about how these two incredible deals work together, so we’re breaking it down for you with this simple FAQ blog post:
May I use my Cable Card for the hikers’ service? Yes, you may use your Cable Card for this service.
Are the Cableway’s outlets open and may I redeem my Cable Card discounts at these outlets? For now, the only outlets that are open are our Wi-Fi Lounge at the Upper Cable Station , the Visitor Information Centre and the Lower Station Kiosk. You will therefore not be able to redeem your discounts at the Shop at the Top or the Table Mountain Café.
What are the operating hours for the hikers’ service? The one-way down service for hikers will run from 8am to 3pm on Saturdays and Sundays, weather permitting.
